Health League is also the authorized coaching centre for rope/pole Mallakhamb under “Khelo India” scheme of The Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and trains around 80 boys and girls , on daily basis.
Other than many players over last so many decades, presently 30 of the players trained at Health League have represented Telangana State in the National Championships. 1st World Mallakhamb Championship was held in Mumbai in Feb 2019 and Ms Jana Patil of Health League, representing the Country struck “Gold” in the Team Championships.
We have more than 150 boys and girls undergoing the training in the sports disciplines. A unique “Sakas Aahar” scheme was introduced in 2018, under which all the trainees are given a high protein diet Supplement every day.
Health League has a well equipped stage for various cultural activities. Innumerable Music festivals and concerts have been organized here, featuring acclaimed artists like Pandit Ravi Shankar, Pandit Jasraj , Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Ustad Zakir Hussain.
Last four to five years have been very significant for the Institution which has taken big strides. Diverse programmes and activities were organized by Health League, ranging from an event on war martyrs of Kargil , to diabetes and weight loss, to many music events and acclaimed Marathi plays. Socially relevant lelctures/demonstrations were also organized , bringing awareness of the physical fitness.All the events were received with wonderful response and very much appreciated by the audiences.
A modern Gymnasium was inaugurated in 2017. The old Gymnasium was totally revamped and now is equipped with state of the art equipment. The Fees structure is strictly in commensurate with the operating cost to facilitate maximum number of people to avail the facilities.
Health League has always been in the forefront to offer help/assistance for any social causes. We had taken the initiative to facilitate assistance ,financial and otherwise to the floods victims last year of 2022. We also facilitated distribution of provision packets to more than 500 families during the pandemic. Health League also organized an event where the Institution was privileged to honour the Widows of the martyrs, veteran war heroes and Shaurya Chakra Awardees.
A primary School under the banner of Ahilya Education Society was established in 1975 at Health League premises, which now is under Health League’s Management. The school imparts quality primary education at a very subsidized fee structure, mainly to the students from the under privileged families. The students are further helped in securing admissions to reputed schools.
Health League is and will always be committed to continue with the work for the betterment of the Society.
